Farewell to Benmore

Final post on our time at Benmore! Last night we all enjoyed the disco! Jo didn't let us down with his selection of tunes!

We woke this morning to find that snow had fallen through the night so it was a speedy operation this morning to get us organised safely for our return leg! The wind was too much for the ferries and we had to return by road, climbing the famous 'Rest and be Thankful'. Mrs MacAlister was disappointed that the road to Campbeltown was blocked as it meant she was unable to pick up her wee girl but she was just glad that we were all safely on our way home! She hopes to get though tomorrow as Charlotte is missing her!

Mr Malloch and Mrs MacAlister have really enjoyed this week with P7 and said that we were a fantastic group - one of the best they have taken to camp! Angela also praised us on our manners!

So goodbye Benmore but hopefully everybody will take away some very fun, happy and precious memories!

Group 2's Wednesday Adventure

A selection of photos from Mr Malloch and his group from Wednesday's Climbing, Abseiling and Gorge walk sessions..

Thursday 21 March

Today was the last day of activities and Mrs MacAlister's group headed out to the gorge and despite the cold everyone put their best foot forward. To warm up the brave sliders Angela gave them hot juice that Ruth had made and Carlie-May, Joseph, Peter, Eden went for it as you can see from the photographs.

In the afternoon we went kayaking and for some of us it was our best activity! But we particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate in the boat house!

Tonight we will have our disco and we are looking forward to sharing our dance moves with disco Joe!

Todays super star was Wojciek for his efforts at the gorge, he did the keyhole, Rock of Africa and the looney slide.

Head for Heights!

Mrs MacAlister's group photos from the ropes course!

Wednesday 20th March 2013

Today Mrs MacAlister woke the girls up by singing happy birthday to Kiarra! Everybody slept well and this morning during dorm inspection both the boys and girls got scores of 9 & 10!

Mr Malloch headed out with his group to climbing and abseiling in the morning and was impressed with everybody's positive attitude and bravery. Conner Walker was picked out as a super star by Steven for his belaying skills. The Birthday girl commanded the abseiling course with great speed and confidence!

Mrs MacAlister's group  heading to the ropes course where everybody worked as a team to get safely across the low ropes and then once on the high ropes everybody got to a level that they were comfortable with. Angela thought that Joseph was very brave at overcoming his fear!  Eden, Megan, Daniel and Mrs MacAlister caught the trapezium from the totem pole!

In the afternoon Mr Malloch and his squad headed to the gorge and again he was impressed with everyone's efforts. Leah overcame her fear over water and managed to manipulate her way through the famous key hole rock formation. Steven took the photographs and they will be uploaded tomorrow (please be patient we are having a problem with the wireless!)

Mrs MacAlister's group went on the bikes and manipulated the forest floor, biking over and under branches! Caitlin won a bar of chocolate from our instructor for being the only one to cycle up a forest trail!

At cake time we all enjoyed a piece of Kiarra's cake and we are now getting showered and ready for tea at 6.15pm.

Tonight we are having a quiz!

We will have more photos tomorrow but here are some of the highlights from Mr Malloch's group yesterday!
